What does it cost to play?
We have free open play as well as paid league/drop-in programs. Look at the master schedule to see what you would like to signup for. The paid leagues help cover the cost of referees and staffing.
Do I need to signup or can I just show up?
We prefer you signup for our leagues and paid programs so we can staff the Park appropriately. BUT we welcome walk-ins at all times. We want everyone to enjoy playing soccer this summer in the heart of San Francisco. Feel free to call us at 415-857-5336.
Is Street Soccer at Civic Center for kids or adults?
We have offerings for both kids and adults. During the weekday we have more structured time for adults, but from 3-6pm every weekday we have open fields where youth can come and get on the field. We also have youth pickup, we call it a mini-tournament, from 9am-11am, we also have open time on the weekend for youth. Please check the master schedule.
Do I need to bring a ball, shinguards, uniforms?
Street Soccer USA will provide balls and bibs (colored sleeveless pullover) to designate teams. No uniforms are required.
Do I need soccer experience?
No - we are welcoming everyone to come and enjoy playing and getting exercise in the heart of SF. We expect there will be varying levels of play, luckily we have two fields so we will organize teams based on playing experience and youth v adults. Please come and try it out! The walls surrounding the field make a great venue for trying for first timers as the ball stays in play more often and gives more chances to touch the ball.
What footwear is needed?
The surface is turf, you can wear tennis shoes, turf shoes, or cleats. "Indoor" soccer shoes will work but might not give ideal traction.
Are there restrooms and a place to change clothes?
There is not a restroom as part of our facility or a chaining room. The SF Library is just steps from the fields and is the closest place to use the restroom or change clothes.
Can I rent the field for a group outing or party?
Yes! please call or email us for availability CivicCenterSF@streetsoccerusa.org / 415-872-9910
